TSC Round 2 at Iron Dog MX

TSC Round 2 is hitting Iron Dog MX in New Ulm, and it is a spot you need to have on your calendar for August 29 and 30. This place has a solid reputation because the owner puts in the work to make sure the facility is ready for us. It is tucked away in South Texas, giving it that private track feel even when the gate is full for a big race weekend.
The dirt at Iron Dog is what makes it interesting. It is a mix that holds moisture pretty well if they get the prep right, which they usually do. You are going to see some deep ruts developing in the bowl turns and some technical jumps that require you to be on your game. The layout isn't just a flat high speed burn, it actually makes you use your brain to find the fast lines as the day goes on.
If Kyle Swanson was leading a session here, he would be all over us about line selection and corner speed. He would want us looking three steps ahead because the lines you used in practice won't be there by the second moto. This track rewards the riders who can stay smooth and keep their momentum up through the heavy sections. It is about being smart with your bike placement and not fighting the track.
Every racer in the South Texas region should be loading up for this one. It is a great test of your fitness and your ability to handle a rougher course. Make sure you pack extra hydration and some shade for the pits since the Texas heat is going to be a factor. Check your bike over for any loose bolts before you head out, and get ready for a weekend of some of the best racing we have seen all year.
