Pax Trax MX Resort

Pax Trax MX Resort

Pax Trax is one of those legendary Florida spots that feels like home as soon as you pull through the gate in Bunnell. It has been running since 1995, so the crew there knows exactly how to prep a facility for real racers. It isn't just one track shoved into a field. They have the full main track, an intermediate track for guys moving up, a dedicated pee-wee layout, and a pit bike area. Having everything in one place makes it a true resort for anyone who actually lives for the grind.

The dirt is that classic Florida mix. It starts out as a dark, tacky sand but turns into a technical monster once the sun hits it. The main layout has some big jumps that require you to stay on the gas, but the real challenge comes from the rollers and the deep ruts that develop in the corners. You have to be precise with your front wheel or the sand will just tuck it under. It is a physical track that tests your fitness and your patience every single lap.

If Kyle Swanson was out here coaching, he would probably be hammering us on corner entrance speed. Since the ruts get so deep, you can't just sit down and coast. He would have us focusing on standing up through the choppy sections and keeping the weight back. He would also watch our line choice to make sure we keep the momentum up. There are usually multiple ways through every turn at Pax. Learning to see the smooth line while everyone else is fighting the main rut is a huge advantage for your race craft. Training here is about building that raw endurance and learning to handle a bike when it starts dancing underneath you in the deep stuff.

This place is worth the drive for pros or families just trying to get some weekend seat time. They have camping right on site, which makes it easy to wake up and get straight to the dirt without a long drive. You should definitely check their social media before you load the truck to see which tracks are open for the day. Bring extra air filters and plenty of water. The Florida heat and that heavy sand will wear you down fast, but that is exactly why we come here to get better. The owners have been doing this for a long time and it shows in how they treat the riders who show up.
